CORE Nexus 4: универсал-кроссоверCORE Nexus 4: the all-round crossover

It's the one they call a "do-it-all" kite.

Ключевая фишка — настройка характера через CIT (систему регулировок CORE). Переставляете точки крепления — и кайт смещается в сторону волны, универсала или фристайла. По сути один кайт под несколько задач.Its key feature is tuning the character via CIT (CORE's adjustment system). Move the attachment points and the kite shifts toward wave, all-round or freestyle behaviour. Effectively one kite for several jobs.

CORE Section 5: специализированный вейвCORE Section 5: the dedicated wave kite

Section — это чистый вейв-кайт, который CORE называет «кайтом мирового класса для волны». Актуальное поколение — Section 5. Это 3-стоечный кайт, вся конструкция которого работает на одно: катание по волне.The Section is a pure wave kite that CORE calls a "world-class wave kite". The current generation is the Section 5. It's a three-strut kite whose whole build serves one thing: riding waves.

Что он даёт на волне:What it gives you on the wave:

• Сильный дрейф. Кайт летит за вами по линии волны и не проваливается, когда вы сбрасываете тягу и едете на доске. Для серфа это главное.Strong drift. The kite flies with you down the line and doesn't drop when you ease off the power and ride the board. For surf, that's the main thing.
• Длинный депауэр и контроль. Можно полностью убрать тягу и работать волну ногами и доской, а не кайтом.Long depower and control. You can take all the power out and work the wave with your feet and board, not the kite.
• Быстрая, точная поворотка. Section живо ходит по окну — важно для строплесс-фристайла и коротких радиусов на лице волны.Fast, precise turning. The Section moves quickly through the window — key for strapless freestyle and tight arcs on the wave face.

Section — специалист. В миксе (буст, фрирайд-круиз) он проигрывает универсалу, зато на волне даёт то, чего Nexus в вейв-режиме всё же не достаёт: полное подчинение серфу.The Section is a specialist. In mixed riding (boost, freeride cruising) it loses to an all-rounder, but on the wave it delivers what the Nexus in wave mode still can't quite reach: total commitment to the surf.

Nexus vs Section: в чём реальная разницаNexus vs Section: the real difference

Проще говоря: Nexus — 80% в каждой дисциплине, Section — 100% на волне и мало где ещё. Оба хороши, вопрос в том, как вы катаетесь.Put simply: the Nexus is 80% in every discipline, the Section is 100% on the wave and little else. Both are good — the question is how you ride.

Что выбрать под волну Пак Нам ПранаWhat to choose for Pak Nam Pran's waves

Пак Нам Пран и побережье Пранбури — это в основном флэт и мелкий чопп, с окнами настоящей волны. Реальность такая:Pak Nam Pran and the Pranburi coast are mostly flat water and small chop, with windows of proper wave. The reality:

It handles the flat water and, in CIT wave mode, does a solid job on the days a wave comes in. One kite, and you're not tied to a wave forecast.

On the wave face it gives you what an all-rounder can't.

Section берут те, кто целенаправленно охотится за волной и готов держать под неё отдельный кайт.For most of our riders in Pak Nam Pran the Nexus makes more sense — simply because the wave isn't here every day and an all-rounder never sits idle. The Section is for those who deliberately hunt waves and are happy to keep a dedicated kite for it.

Отдельная история — фойл. Оба кайта дружат с фойлом за счёт дрейфа и депауэра, а фойл вытягивает сессию в слабый ветер, когда обычный райд уже не едет. Для чистого лайтвинда и фойла есть и Nexus 4 LW.A separate note on foiling. Both kites get on well with a foil thanks to their drift and depower, and a foil stretches a session into light wind where ordinary riding no longer works. For pure light wind and foiling there's also the Nexus 4 LW.

Как выбрать размер и планкуChoosing size and bar

Модель — половина вопроса, вторая половина — размер под ваш вес и ветер. Ошибётесь с размером, и ни Nexus, ни Section не раскроются.The model is half the question; the other half is size for your weight and wind. Get the size wrong and neither the Nexus nor the Section will show its worth.

Для Пак Нам Прана — чаще всего правильный выбор.The Nexus — if you want one kite for everything and waves are only part of the picture. It grows the rider, forgives, and doesn't make you buy extra for every new discipline. For Pak Nam Pran, usually the right call.

Section — если вы катаете в основном волну и строплесс и хотите максимум именно на лице волны. Это специалист, и в своём деле он лучший.The Section — if you ride mostly waves and strapless and want the most on the wave face. It's a specialist, and at its own job it's the best.
